Industries



Industries of Bangladesh:
To live a comfortable life we need a large variety of things. Most of the resources provided by nature cannot be used in their natural from. They need to be processed and converted to usable form. Converting raw material into processed goods with the help of original human effort is called Industry.
Bangladesh is a developing country of the third world. It is mainly an agro based country. Though it is not developed in the field of industry, but some industries have been established with government and non government initiatives.
The products that are produced with industrial or agricultural raw materials in mills and factories are called Industrial products. Jute, Cotton, Sugar, Paper, Fertilizer, Cement etc. are the mentionable major industries of Bangladesh. Industries of Bangladesh can be classified into three categories.
These are:
(a)    Cottage Industries.
(b)   Small Scale Industries.
(c)    Large Scale Industries.
Cottage Industries:
Industries which are run by the members of a family in their homes with small capital and resource are called cottage Industries. They produce small quantity of goods. Very few people work to make things.
Handloom cloths, utensils made by brass, copper and clay and different kinds of bamboo and cane items are made in cottage industries. Weaving shawls, blanket and making shoes are also examples of cottage industry.
